It’s 2018.
I remember standing in front of the mirror taking some progress pictures of myself.
And the only thing I saw was a body that looked quite the same as a couple of months back.
So I pulled out the old progress pictures.
Cut them together side by side, so that I can see the progress better.
But still, I couldn’t recognize a huge difference.
Was all the hard work of the last months for nothing?
Why do I even put all the effort in if THIS was the result?
I remember…
ππΌ how these pictures made me feel insecure.
ππΌ how I started to question my whole process.
ππΌ how I changed up my training and diet regime.
But the problem was not lying in my training program or the macro split I was following.
There was one tiny but crucial detail missing in my process:
I had no clue how to pose.
Sounds trivial.
I know.
And you may think now:
“But Dragana, I’m not a bodybuilder. I’m not a model. I don’t need this.”
Let me tell you:
Learning how to pose is far more than ‘looking’ good in the mirror, on stage, or in front of the camera.
It’s the ability to emphasize your personal traits.
It’s spending time with yourself.
It’s getting to know your own body better.
For me taking this step and learning how to pose felt awkward at the beginning.
Who am I to stand in front of the mirror and flex?!
But the more I practiced it the more it became an appreciation for my body and the work we are doing together.
I train my muscles.
I nourish my muscles.
I flex my muscles.
Posing gave me a whole new connection to my body and opened up new perspectives on body-building.
Because at the end of the day that’s exactly what I’m doing:
I’m building my body.
And you are doing this too. Even without competition or stage.
As a cherry on top, I now know exactly how to twist and turn my body to create the shape that I love.
This gives me a damn good feeling. It’s powerful.
Most important I can see better the results of the work I’m putting in. The connection between the hard work in the gym and my nutrition is much clearer. It helps me to stay very consistent with the process and reduce self-doubts BIG TIME.
Learning how to pose changed everything and that’s why I want to invite you today to start practicing. Not for a judge. Or a stage.
But for yourself.
